Czech Republic postcode radius search: key facts for dispatchers

What dispatchers should know about the Czech Republic postcode radius search: Postcodes, main routes and tolls in the Czech Republic at a glance.

      Format

Czech postcodes (PSČ) have five digits and are written with a space, for example 110 00 Praha. The first digit stands for the region: 1 Prague, 2 Central Bohemia, 3 West and South Bohemia, 4 North Bohemia, 5 East Bohemia and West Moravia, 6 South Moravia, 7 North Moravia and Silesia. The official format is displayed, but only the digits are copied. More on the structure: Postal codes in the Czech Republic on Wikipedia.

      Transport

The D1 motorway links Prague with Brno and Ostrava, and the D5 runs from Prague via Plzeň to the German border at Waidhaus. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes pay an electronic toll (Mýto CZ) on motorways and many first-class roads. Current rates and rules: Mýto CZ.

      Workflow

Many orders use English or German place names. The search understands common names such as Prague, Pilsen, Brünn, Budweis or Karlsbad and looks up Praha, Plzeň, Brno, České Budějovice and Karlovy Vary. You do not need to type special characters such as ř or č.

Czech Republic postcode radius search: frequently asked questions

Do I have to type the space in the postcode?
No. 30100, 301 00 and 301-00 all give the same result. In the results list the postcode is shown in the official format with a space.
What does the copy button copy?
Clicking a postcode copies only the five digits without the space, for example 30100. That way you can paste it straight into a freight exchange or transport management system.
Why does Praha appear several times in “Pick place”?
Prague has many postcodes. For a particular district, enter the postcode directly or pick the right entry via “Pick place”.
Are road kilometres and drive times available for the Czech Republic?
Not at the moment. For the Czech Republic, PLZ Profi shows the straight-line distance from the starting point. Road kilometres and estimated drive times are currently available for Germany and Austria.
Why do the markers disappear when I choose “All”?
With a 100 km radius you can easily get several hundred results. To keep the map readable and fast, “All” only shows the starting point on the map. The list and the export still contain every result.
