With the Netherlands postcode radius search you can find places and postcodes within the radius you need. Inputs such as 3011, 3011 AB or Den Bosch are recognised, as are The Hague and German names such as Nimwegen. The data covers all of the roughly 4,000 four-digit postcode areas.

Netherlands postcode radius search: key facts for dispatchers

What dispatchers should know about the Netherlands postcode radius search: Postcodes, ports and truck tolls in the Netherlands at a glance.

      Format

Dutch postcodes consist of four digits and two letters, for example 3011 AB. The four digits describe an area, and the letters narrow it down to individual street sections. For radius searches and dispatching, the four digits are enough, so PLZ Profi works with around 4,000 areas. If you enter the full postcode, the search automatically uses the first four digits. More on the structure: Postal codes in the Netherlands on Wikipedia.

      Transport

The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest seaport, alongside Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport. Important crossings to Germany are on the A12 near Emmerich, the A1 near Bad Bentheim and the A67 near Venlo. Since July 2026, trucks over 3.5 tonnes pay a distance-based toll (vrachtwagenheffing) on motorways and some other roads, replacing the Eurovignette. Current rates and rules: Vrachtwagenheffing.

      Workflow

Some cities have an official name that differs from everyday use: The Hague (Den Haag) is officially ’s-Gravenhage, and Den Bosch is ’s-Hertogenbosch. The search finds every version, as well as German names such as Nimwegen, Arnheim or Herzogenbusch. You do not need to type hyphens or apostrophes.

3D load planning & loading metre calculation in real time

Plan your transport end to end: with our new 3D loading metre calculator, dispatchers and forwarders work out freight capacity, pallet spaces and payload in an interactive 3D simulation. Standard semi-trailer, mega trailer, jumbo drawbar combination, van or shipping container: you see straight away how many pallets fit on the truck and how much floor space is left.

Especially handy on a busy dispatch day: with Paste load list you bring in freight details as text or as a screenshot with Ctrl + V, straight from your clipboard. Text recognition runs locally in your browser; your image is never uploaded to a server.

      Postcode search across Europe

International transport needs reliable data across borders. The radius search currently covers 10 countries and we keep adding more, so you can find the right catchment area anywhere in Europe.

Netherlands postcode radius search: frequently asked questions

Why does PLZ Profi only show four digits?
There are around 470,000 full postcodes with letters, often one per side of a street. For radius searches, freight exchanges and dispatching, the roughly 4,000 four-digit areas are the usual standard. You can still enter the letters; they are ignored for the search.
What does the copy button copy?
Clicking a postcode copies only the four digits, for example 3011. That way you can paste it straight into a freight exchange or transport management system.
Why is The Hague listed as ’s-Gravenhage?
’s-Gravenhage is the official name, which the postal service also uses. That is why the results show ’s-Gravenhage with “Den Haag” in brackets. Den Bosch likewise appears as ’s-Hertogenbosch. The search finds every spelling.
Where does the data come from?
Postcodes, places and locations come from around 9.7 million addresses by © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), which in the Netherlands were imported from the official address and building register (BAG). For each postcode and place we calculate the centre of all addresses.
Are road kilometres and drive times available for the Netherlands?
Not at the moment. For the Netherlands, PLZ Profi shows the straight-line distance from the starting point. Road kilometres and estimated drive times are currently available for Germany and Austria.
Why do the markers disappear when I choose “All”?
With a 100 km radius you can easily get several hundred results. To keep the map readable and fast, “All” only shows the starting point on the map. The list and the export still contain every result.
